In Psalms 100, we are encouraged “to make a joyful noise unto the Lord … and to come before his presence with singing.” If you love to sing or play an instrument, we have a place for you!
From traditional hymns to contemporary classics, the Chancel Choir provides music most Sundays at the 11:00 am service during the school year. In addition to music during worship, we perform a few special concerts during the year including a Christmas cantata. Jordan Hofmeister, Chancel Choir Director, holds a BM in Music Education (with an emphasis in trombone) from Georgia Southern University.
We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 pm. There are no auditions for this choir; the only requirement is a sense of humor. For more information, contact Jordan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Angel Bell Choir
The Angel Bells are a multigenerational choir and provide music at the 8:30 am and 11:00 am services once a month during the school year. Like the Chancel Choir, it also takes the summer off. The choir rings under the direction of Lea Thorusen, who has played bells in various churches since 1978 while her husband was in the armed services. Lea is an accomplished ringer, and is one of the original members of the choir when we obtained our first two octaves in 2000. The Angel Bells rehearse from 5:30 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday evenings. For more information, contact Lea Thorusen at email@example.com.
Do you sing but don’t want to be tied down to a regular choir schedule? Do you play an instrument but haven’t found an outlet to perform in a while? Sign up for the special music schedule at Heritage. For more information, contact our pianist and music director Denise Engelhardt at firstname.lastname@example.org.
