In Psalms 100, we are encouraged “to make a joyful noise unto the Lord … and to come before his presence with singing.” If you love to sing or play an instrument, we have a place for you!
From traditional hymns to contemporary classics, the Chancel Choir provides music most Sundays at the 11:00 am service during the school year. In addition to music during worship, we perform a few special concerts during the year including a Christmas cantata. Jordan Hofmeister, Chancel Choir Director, holds a BM in Music Education (with an emphasis in trombone) from Georgia Southern University.
We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 pm. There are no auditions for this choir; the only requirement is a sense of humor. For more information, contact Jordan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have two bell choirs: the Angel Bells (intermediate to advanced) and the Genesis Bells (beginner to intermediate). These multigenerational choirs provide music at the 8:30 am and 11:00 am services once a month during the school year. Like the Chancel Choir, it also takes the summer off.
The Angel Bells rehearse from 5:30 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday evenings. The Genesis Bells rehearse on Sundays from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
Debbie Boyd, Bell Choir Director, has been involved with bells for over twenty years. For more information, contact her at email@example.com.
Do you sing but don’t want to be tied down to a regular choir schedule? Do you play an instrument but haven’t found an outlet to perform in a while? Sign up for the special music schedule at Heritage. For more information, contact our pianist and music director Denise Engelhardt at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do your children like to sing? We have the perfect program for them! Praise Kids is our choir for children ages two through 5th grade. We meet at the beginning of Sunday School hour at 9:45 am. The children learn songs that help reinforce the lessons of the Bible and what it means to be a follower of Jesus. They also share their music with the congregation at the 11:00 services several times each year.
Our leaders, Jeri Hadaway and Kaye Mero have been singing all their lives. They both have a great passion for teaching young voices and bringing out the best in the children. For more information, contact Jeri Hadaway at email@example.com.
