Welcome, Rev. Arch Baker.
Christ Transforms Lives… We Grow Disciples
All of those who have ever followed Christ hold one truth in common: They are not the same now as when they first began. Christ has transformed their lives and they will continue to change for as long as they live. It turns out that the greatest discovery in that transformation is finding that God has a purpose for every life, and that any one life can make a difference in the lives of many. That’s why we are the Church, to make a difference in life.
The book of Acts records the spread of the gospel of Christ to the gentile world. We are part of that world, and our story is forever linked with theirs. Just as devotion to the teaching of the apostles, fellowship, prayer, and the breaking of the bread became the foundational activity of the earliest church (Acts 2:42), so the same things make us the present day chapter in the gospel of Christ.
Building up and strengthening those who follow Christ is the core of faith and life at Heritage Presbyterian Church.
The words and images you will see on this web site are rooted in ministry, mission, and fellowship. They are the faces of real people who are living, working, and celebrating life as ordinary human beings. They are evidence of Christ’s presence among us and of the transformation of our lives by his.
They are only the start, however. Our denominational motto identifies us as “Reformed, always being reformed.” We are a work in progress. By acknowledging our imperfection, we open a door to God who alone perfects all things. By living the classic disciplines of Christian life, reading scripture, praying for ourselves and others, worshiping together, serving others, and giving generously, we become true disciples of Christ.
It would be our blessing to join our discipleship with yours and discover God’s purpose and God’s presence in our lives. Together we can make a difference beyond what any one of us could make alone.
We welcome you to come among us for a season or a lifetime as we live to follow God’s only son sent to redeem us all.
